Exercise program for Back & Posture:

Many people suffer from back pain related to poor postural habits. A physical therapist can help you to understand how to correct your posture, and show you specific exercises to assist this process.

many people find that they are unable to find time for regular exercise. As a result the muscles supporting the sine became weak. when the spine is not well supported by muscle it is easy to strain your back or for the back to "feel tired".

Back & PostureWeakness in the musculo-skeletal support system can also be a direct result of chronic back pain, where the patient's activity level has become restricted due to chronic pain. Learning specific back strengthening exercises can help you to mobilize your spine, and to strengtehn your muscles in order to maintain good posture.

Strong abdominal muscles, back extensor & hip muscles are important for good core stability. After some sessions you will notice greater strength and flexibility, as well as improved posture. Exercises are designed to release tension from the back to strengthen the posture supporting muscles.

Preventive Treatment:

Preventive TreatmentWe strongly believe in the principle of prevention. This applies to the current injury as well as to other areas of the body that may be identified as a potential problem. Education and advice regarding all aspects of the injury including exercise prescription, both at our centre and at home, form the basis of our preventive strategy.

Our long term goal is to prevent a recurrence of the condition and thus we are committed to addressing the causes of the problem & not just treating the symptoms.

Common Ailments:

Common AilmentsBack and neck pain: Upper back pain is mainly caused by faulty sitting postures. The muscles in the region around the shoulder blade remain in an over-distended condition and the pectoral muscles remain in a contracted state for a long period. This leads to muscle fatigue and considerable reduction in muscle strength which in turn can cause muscle spasms and dull aches in the neck, shoulder and back.
